This project was literally a year in the making…

When I look back at my emails, I started working on this almost exactly a year ago, starting with recruiting and building the team!

Over the year, I got to see how the sausage was made (so to speak 🤪), and had the honour of witnessing what it took to make a Habbi Habbi book

Turns out, there’re many manyyy more layers of work involved when a book can be tapped with a Reading Wand, y’all!!! But it’s also what makes these books ✨ magical ✨

Suffice to say, I learned a lot during this process haha

Thank you all for your creative input in the books (I love that H&AL at Habbi Habbi gave us the freedom to really design the books for Cantonese families — you may or may not find that there is Canto-unique content that isn’t necessarily there in other languages! 👀), for being super detailed and eagle-eyed in your reviews of all the available content (it’s a LOT!), for being so patient and handling feedback so gracefully during multiple audio re-record rounds, and for always being there ready to chime in whenever we needed gut checks on things like character names, font sizes, Jyutping placement, which dim sum to include (important decisions!! 🤪)… etc

I hope you all love these books as much as we enjoyed making them!
