The Hong Kong Starter Pack

It’s no secret that Hong Kong has a special place in my heart.

I lurrrve stocking books about Hong Kong, from the food, to the culture, to the history, to the sights!

It is my way of introducing my kids to where I was born, especially without travel these days.

We recently stocked some new titles, both independently published in Hong Kong:

πŸ“˜ Emi Takes Hong Kong by Jane Karen Ho

πŸ“™ Hong Kong Travelogue by Natalie Hui

Emi Takes Hong Kong is a cute imaginative story where a little boy, while trying to search for a perfect gift for his mom, ends up taking the reader on a tour through the iconic sights in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong Travelogue was out of print for a while, so I was pretty excited to see it reprinted! It is a beautifully illustrated tribute to the historic shops and districts of Hong Kong. Whether it is the mid-century tenement buildings (唐樓 β€œtong lau”) to the traditional shops found in little alleyways, Natalie does a masterful job documenting all the charming little details in this book.

I hope you enjoy these too πŸ’•
