The legend of the Monkey King (孫悟空) was that it was a monkey that was birthed from a rock. Not only did he have an extraordinary origin, he was also a master of martial arts.
But given his fiery personality, he was always out causing trouble, often found fighting the heavenly guards, until one day, the Great Buddha trapped him under the Five-Finger Mountain.
It wasn't until 500 years later when Tang Seng (唐僧), who was passing by, released him from under the mountain. And thus begins the epic adventure that is the Chinese classic known as the Journey to the West!
