What's the difference between「畀、俾、比」("to give")?

「嗰、個、果」("that") — which one should we use?

Is it「唔使」、「唔駛」or「唔洗」?

Can you tell the difference between all of these「辦、辮、辨、辯、瓣」?

Is it「揚州炒飯」or「楊洲炒飯」for that beloved Singapore Fried Rice dish?

How do you actually write out the term「liu1 lang1」?

「執書/執輸」and「撕紙/獅子」may be pairs of homophones, but their meanings cannot be more different!

Common typos is not a unique phenomenon to the Cantonese language. It is however, interesting because Cantonese is a spoken language first, so the "proper" ways of writing the spoken language is never formally taught.

Some characters, while technically "incorrect", is so widely used and recognized, that they are now actually considered correct term, with the "proper" character now mostly unused.

This book aims to document these characters, and the histories behind their evolutions!

This is the sixth title of a series of books by Cantonese Museum 廣東話資料館, who has over 100k likes on Facebook!
