Collection: Tatsuya Miyanishi

Tatsuya Miyanishi is a popular award-winning Japanese children's book author and illustrator. His iconic use of bold strokes and colours is instantly recognizable, and has garnered somewhat of a passionate following among children and adults.

He's been releasing books in his extremely popular Tyrannosaurus series since 2003, and is the recipient of the 30th Kodansha Cultural Award for Picture Book and Kenbuchi Picture Book Grand Prize.

We love his books here at Little Kozzi. They range from being silly and quirky (like Baby Ankylosaurus), to being surprisingly deep and thought-provoking  (like I Love Mom Most or any of the Tyrannosaurus books).

Miyanishi's storytelling style deviates from "classic" western children's lit story lines that often feature clear-cut happy endings, but this difference might be the exact reason it has been so popular among young readers who crave a good story that is a little different and unexpected.
