This story begins when a big boulder from the top of the mountain falls into the river. One day, an old mason finds it - and believes it is one of the rare stones in the world. He decides to carve it well. Everyday, the stone waits for the old mason to carve it into the best statue in the world... but one day, the mason did not appear...
There are many ups and downs in life... this book hopes to brighten the lives of those who are waiting for gloomy days to pass. The little stone in the story wants to tell us that t is possible to stand back up, wipe away tears, put on a smile, and face the world again.
The story references Jizo - one of the four great bodhisattvas of Buddhism. The small stone Jizo is often seen in Japan, in temples, alleys and fields, guarding children and travelers everywhere.
