A dinosaur circus opens in Monkey Town, and draws many people to see it!
Once the curtains drop, however, and some children look behind the scenes, they realize the caged dinosaurs were not happy at all. They were trapped and forced to perform, simply because folks at Monkey Town wanted to be entertained.
The children protest, and despite many setbacks, continues to rally their friends and teachers to boycott the circus completely. Their efforts paid off! The circus finally shut down and the dinosaurs were released back into the wild.
Bright illustrations and relatively simple text make this a great kid-friendly story to introduce ideas around grassroots efforts in standing up for social justice issues.
