If something doesn't take too much extra effort for you to do, but would completely make someone else's day, would you do it?
Little MIru (小米) has a neighbour who is always grumpy. She appears visibly frustrated about everything, and she always seems to be yelling.
Why is she so grumpy? Is there something Miru can do to bring a smile to her face?
In busy urban living, we've often don't know our neighbours very well anymore, and the sense of community is often missing.
The little boy in this story however, decided that he wanted to do something to help. He figured out why they old lady is grumpy, and in the process, inspired, touched, and connected a bunch of neighbours together through his acts of kindness.
This is a great book about empathy, being curious, and actually taking action to make the community a better place, no matter how small the act may seem. It also brings to light some of the disabilities that some people struggle with, that may not be obvious at first glance.
