Written by Penny Tassoni (an early years expert), Time To... series is a collection of books featuring four topics familiar to young readers. Illustrator Mel Four uses cheery, bright coloured illustrations (with a diverse cast of children ♥️) so the ideas are presented in a positive, engaging, and inclusive way!
The books are very child friendly. It uses simple language, and takes into consideration how children may interpret different situations.
Each book also includes a page of practical advice and tips for practitioners, carers and parents on the topic.
The set contains the following books:
1. Time to Eat《我不偏食》
Sometimes mealtimes can be a battle with young children, especially when they don't want to try new foods. How can we best help children understand that it can take time to like a new food? And how can we develop their vocabulary so they can articulate how they are feeling about food?
This book encourages children to change their attitudes towards food through looking at shapes and colours, talking about textures and generally making food more interesting. In doing so, young children will build on their self-care skills, behaviour and routines when it comes to healthy eating.
2. Time to Make Friends《我愛交朋友》
From shy to confident, quiet to enthusiastic, all children have different personalities and sometimes they just need a little help when it comes to making friends. How can we best help children communicate clearly and build strong friendships?
3. Time to Share《我愛分享》
Everyone knows how difficult it is to get young children to share with others and we need strategies to help them understand why it's important – this book will help!
4. Time to Tidy Up《我愛收拾》
Playtime can involve a wealth of resources from toys and blocks to books and paint, but sometimes putting all of these items away can be a battle. Time to Tidy Up helps young children build on their behaviour and routines when in comes to tidying up.
